YPSILANTI, Mich.---Greetings to all. My name is Aaron McCain aka Aaron Jay R and welcome to my blog. I'm 22 and I am a senior at Eastern Michigan University.
Like many of us here in this feature class, or college period, it took me a while to figure out just exactly what field I wanted to go into. I started out majoring in biology but soon realized my sophomore year that science was not the route for me. Later on that year I found interest in the medical field and changed my major to medical administration. Sadly, like biology, I soon learned that too was not the right road for me to travel. I realized that my real interest in the field was not medical administration itself but the potential money I could one day earn.
During my junior year at Eastern, I seem to be stuck and unsure on what direction I wanted to travel in. During this entire process, I began to write about my issues and the different problems I was struggling with. I slowly began to develop a love for writing. I've always enjoyed reading and after long consideration and thinking, I realized that maybe I was meant to go into English. It's a complete 180 degree turnaround from the science field, but I felt that I had found something I liked.
I am currently majoring in language, literature and writing for secondary education and couldn’t be happier. Like many of us, I still become discouraged at times, but I push on anyway.
I find feature writing interesting because feature stories that deal with lifestyle, human interest, and entertainment have always been the ones I go to first when I open up a newspaper. With my minor now journalism, in this class I hope to improve on my writing skills and learn how to produce a good feature story.

My situation was something like yours. I wanted to go into health and become a doctor. I've changed my major about 7 times. So don't feel discouraged and keep trucking along!
