Coming up with an idea for my multi-genre was a difficult task in the beginning, but as a future educator I began to think of an issue that myself, along with many other students, tend to struggle with. I thought of an issue that I could address and create a solution for, and that issue was organization. My students tend to have a problem with organization, which includes time organization and the organization of school documents.
When you are unorganized you find yourself missing assignments, losing assignments, coming to class late, and falling behind in the class. I thought of seven different areas that can hinder a student from succeeding in the class and thought of solutions for them. By creating a guide to better organization I believe I can help not only my future grade school students become more successful, but the guide can be useful to my fellow college students as well.
The guide includes seven topic areas, or steps, to becoming a more organized student. The first step was to buy a planner. With a planner you can keep track of all your dates and events. The next step is to fist list all of your due dates and obligations for the next couple weeks down on a sheet of paper before you begin randomly filling out your planner. Creating a filling system is the next step. With a filing system you can keep track of all your school documents and papers. The next step is to avoid procrastination, which can be hard to do. I suggest making little reminders in your planner each day leading up to a due date, so that the pressure to complete an assignment is constantly on your mind. TV and music can be a form of distraction when you are trying to complete an assignment, the next step in my guide is to eliminate all distractions so that you can continue to be productive. Taking care of your homework before you get into anything else is the next step, and the very last step is to simply prepare yourself for the next day before you go to sleep. This way you can spend less time looking for things and getting dressed in the morning, and also decrease the chances of you being late for class.
